Eurovision World Cup: Iceland vs Croatia

For the duration of the actual World Cup, some of the best Eurovision artists old and new will be battling it out in a series of matches that mirror the World Cup itself. By the end, we will know the first winner of our Eurovision World Cup!

On each competition day of the World Cup, all of the matches for that day will be posted here on Eurovision Union. For a full 24 hours, a poll will be open for each match and it will be up to you to pick which of the representative songs will win the match.

It’s Day 13, and we are inching ever closer to knowing which two countries from each group will progress to the next round. For many of these countries, their third match in this round is make or break, and it’s up to you to decide which nations will continue! Today all the matches from Group C and D will take place! This match is between Iceland and Croatia!

Today’s competitors:

Is it true? Yes, it is, Yohanna is representing Iceland at the Eurovision World Cup! You will remember Yohanna as the Icelandic representative from Eurovision 2009, where she finished in 2nd place with her beautiful ballad Is It True. Although she didn’t win, she will prove to be a fierce competitor!

Croatia first made their debut at Eurovision in 1993, and since then have been fairly successful at Eurovision. Although they have a string of Top 10 finishes, the nation is yet to win Eurovision. As such, the Eurovision World Cup representative is the best placing Croatian entry thus far, which is the song Marija Magdalena by Doris Dragović, who finished in 4th place back in 1999.
